Permanent Hair color is not supposed to ever come out unless it gets dyed over, or it grows out and is cut off.

Permanent, or Level 3 hair color, is not often found in unnatural colors. Jerome Russell carries a few purples and a red, but hopefully more colors will emerge with the demand.

What You Will Need:

-The Dye

-old shirt or a smock of sorts that you wont mind getting dirty.

-drop cloth

-A Pair of plastic gloves (rubber works but may snag hair)

-Tinting brush(es)

-petroleum jelly or other base (Vaseline, baby oil, etc.)

-clips (claw clips work great)

-Plastic wrap, plastic bag, or aluminium foil

Getting Ready:

-Put on your Hair dying shirt with nothing underneith unless it can be removed by means other than lifting over your head (i.e. a bra is ok).

-Lay down drop cloth or old towel on the floor around the area where you will be when applying the dye.

-Shampoo your hair (do not use conditoner if you can help it. It is a Base and will repel the dye).

-Throughly blow dry and comb out your hair (Comb, never brush wet hair. By drying the hair out, the dye can be absorbed more readily, as opposed to dirty hair which repels dye due to oil residue).

-Apply petroleum jelly to hair line, ears, and any other area you don't want stained with color.

-Put on the gloves.

Dying:

-Useing either a tint brush or just your fingers and a comb apply the dye to selected strands of hair working from the scalp down to the ends. comb dye though hair. Try not to get any on your skin or scalp.

-once the desired color has been applied, wrap the hair up on top of the head, and cover with a plastic bag, plastic wrap, or aluminium foil.

-A heating pad can be applied over the plastic or foil to increase the color's intensity.

-Let sit for amount of time instructed on the package.

-Rinse out dye untill it runs clear.

-Shampoo and condition as usual
